“…your Muse is you, the best part of yourself, where your finest and only true work comes from.” – Steven Pressfield, The War of Art
Did you know that you have a boss? Yep. It’s true. When you sit down to do your creative work, your Muse—that best part of yourself where your finest work comes from—she’s your boss.
And it’s time for your evaluation.
Write a memo to yourself as your Muse boss. What will she say to you? Is she angry that you’ve been avoiding your deep creative work? Is she ecstatic with your performance? What is her name? Write in her voice and delve into your evaluation.
Start with the overall evaluation. Point out specific areas for improvement. Suggest ways to make those improvements. Celebrate wins. Give encouragement.
You know, all those things that a good boss does.
